Volunteer with APO

Whether you’re interested in a leadership role or just want to lend a helping hand, we welcome volunteers of all backgrounds—musicians, family members, friends, and music lovers alike. There are many ways to get involved:

  • Assist with setup and teardown at rehearsals and concerts
  • Greet guests, serve as an usher, or help direct parking at concerts
  • Coordinate or assist with merchandise sales at events
  • Manage and grow our presence on social media platforms
  • Contribute to advertising or marketing
  • Assist with fundraising or help research and write grant proposals

Specific Volunteer Descriptions

Volunteer and Musician Coordinator (deadline August 1, 2025)
(Estimated time commitment: ~2 -3 hours per week; increased commitment around concerts)
This is a paid position, with compensation of $200 per concert cycle (5 cycles total).

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer and Musician Coordination

  • Recruit, organize, and schedule volunteers and musicians for concerts, rehearsals, and events
  • Maintain up-to-date contact lists and track availability for both volunteers and musicians
  • Communicate schedules, instructions, and arrival times clearly ahead of each event or rehearsal
  • Coordinate with section leaders and the Artistic Team to confirm musician availability and manage seating logistics
  • Assist with check-in, attendance tracking, and on-site coordination during rehearsals and performances
  • Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers and provide support during concert days
  • Help ensure musicians receive timely rehearsal reminders and event information
  • Recognize and thank volunteers and musicians for their contributions
